Commercial Solicitor, Gurdas Dhadwal is the Vice-President of the Sandwell Lions which is a local charity run by volunteers. The charity gets involved in fund raising to help people in need such as those with sight and health disabilities, people suffering financial hardship, and the elderly . The activities of the charity are varied and include supporting the local food bank and helping the Friends of the Thimblemill Brook with litter picks.

Sandwell Lions also helps good causes abroad.  On 13 May 2018, it hosted its 9th annual Charter and raised over £250.00 on the raffle.  This will be sent to Manzini Lions Club, along with a further donation of £500, to provide cooking facilities for families in Swaziland. In 2017, a donation was taken by Gurdas to the Guru Nanak Mission Netarheen Birdh Ashram which is a residential educational facility for blind people in Punjab, India.
